We are excited to announce that To The Arctic, by Florian Schulz, was named Most Likely To Save The Planet and Outstanding Book of the Year by the Independent Publisher Book Awards!  The “IPPYs” were created to recognize books that are penned and distributed independently, and with over 4,000 applicants has become the largest independent book award contest in the world.

The book showcases wildlife images captured by Schulz during his 18 months in the Arctic, some of which was in conjunction with One World One Ocean and MacGillivray Freeman Films on filming expeditions, providing a deeper view of the characters in the movie.  According to the Independent Publisher Book Awards, the breath-taking photography and stories of family survival won Schulz the gold medal for exhibiting, “the courage and creativity necessary to take chances, break new ground, and bring about change, not only to the world of publishing, but to our society.”

A medal will be presented on June 4th at the 16th Annual IPPY Awards in New York, kicking off the annual BookExpo America convention.
